I’ve spent the last couple of years mostly dabbling in stuff that hasn’t been published -- trying my hand at writing a screenplay, wrestling with short stories, drumming up the first draft of a novel. I’m also focusing some of my writing energy on my new blog, You Will Make A Change For The Better.

Below, though, you’ll find some additional writing samples from my past endeavors -- a mix of creative non-fiction, feature articles, columns and essays. Yeah. That should keep you plenty busy.

52nd City -  Art, Literature, Culture (52ndcity.com/)

This was a fantastic lit mag some friends of mine slaved over in St. Louis. I was proud to have been part of a handful of their fabulous themed issues, online and off.

Kiki Magazine (kikimag.com)

What a blast it’s been, writing fun little articles for this brave new magazine aimed at tween girls.

Columns

After I stopped writing Ask Julia, I continued publishing a weekly column on my own website. These are a few reader faves.

The Commonspace

A terrific website focused on St. Louis grassroots civics and culture. I still miss it!

Ask Julia (STL Today advice column)

Hands down, the best job I ever had. Oh, what fun! Doling out advice and being a smart ass for pay. The good ol’ days.

STL Today/St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Columns written primarily for STLToday, the online site of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
